Praised by critics and viewers alike for its forensic focus on a handful of soft-left talking points from roughly 2014, Hare’s series has prompted speculation about the veteran writer’s next move.
In ‘Roadkill’, Hare deftly mixed a murderous international conspiracy with NHS privatisation by simply forcing the issues together. Viewers have applauded the bravery with which Hare abandoned narrative coherence to pedal a dubiously thought through anti-establishment angle.
