The presence of a former president always looms large over an incumbent administration, but Obama’s new memoir, ‘A Promised Land’ has cast a withering shadow over the Trump regime.
“It’s hard to see what the President has been doing these days”, ponders Obama. “It’s clear that, among other things, America’s standing in the world has declined.”
The 44th President continued: “And by standing in the world I mean bombing the un-American parts of the world. That seems clear. And if the Trump administration would spend less time golfing and more time tomahawk-ing, maybe we wouldn’t be in the mess we’re in today.”
It is thought that key members of Obama’s team have questioned the former president on the attention he is bringing to a fraught foreign policy, in which US military equipment was rumoured to be adorned with “GirlBoss? I’m a GirlBomb!”
One British commentator has noted: “Obama’s still pretty hot right now, but remember there was a time when 97% of Britain would have got on their knees for Blair. And now he looks like someone’s divorced dad who talks to webcam girls.”
